Don's love for music developed at an early
age. His mother was a wonderful musician
who sang and played the piano and vibraharp,
so he started listening to music while in the
womb! Don's father was a minister and
evangelist and the family sang as a quartet
traveling throughout the southern states
during the summer months going to a
different camp meeting or revival every week.
As Don became more aware of the arts, he
became enthralled with the theater and
eventually studied theater performance
and design on full scholarship at
Southern Methodist University -
Meadows School of Fine Arts. There
he had the opportunity to study
costume design with Robert Blackman,
who went on to design the costumes
for Star Trek - New Generation.
He also had the opportunity to
study and perform along side
many now notable performers
including, Kathy Bates,
Beth Henley, Powers Boothe,
Steven Tobolowsky, and
to name a few.

Life's responsibilities, however, prevented a career in theater or music and led to a career in the law.
Don studied law at the University of Kansas - School of Law and during his career as an attorney he
had the privilege of serving as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Kansas litigating interstate
water disputes before the United States Supreme Court.
Before relocating to California from Kansas City, Don began enjoying the right side of his brain a bit
more. He started singing in the jazz clubs in Kansas City and at his first audition after a number of
years, was cast in the lead of Empty Plate at the Café Grand Debouf at the Just Off Broadway Theater
in Kansas City. Shortly thereafter, Don came to California on vacation and remained to explore theatre,
music, painting, carpentry, sculpture and any other interesting puzzle that may come his way.
